Author Sharon Atkins – ‘Hazel’s Memoir”

Author and genealogist Sharon Atkins will speak on Thursday, April 27, 11:00 AM, at the Rogers Mansion, located at 17 Meeting House Lane, regarding what she discovered researching her book “With a Heart for any Fate: Hazel’s Memoir”.

This work of historical fiction is based on the diaries of Hazel Howland, who married J. Carlton Corwith of Water Mill. Interwoven into the story are her experiences as a teacher at Southampton High, historical details about WWI, the 1918 flu epidemic, as well as other aspects of local life during that era.

This event is co-sponsored with the Rogers Memorial Library. Admission is free but participants are requested to register for the event by calling the museum at 631-283-2494 or visiting
